What Are Analysis Reports?

100% Matches: Segments that are identical to previously translated content in the translation memory (TM). These can be reused without any modification.
Context match: The segments in both the file and translation memory are identical, the document structure levels align, and the preceding source segment is identical, with the same translation as in the earlier document.
Fuzzy Matches: Segments that are similar but not identical to existing TM entries. The similarity percentage varies, and translators will need to revise these segments.
Repetitions: These are segments that appear multiple times within the same file. When a segment is repeated, it allows for efficient translation, as the translator can reuse the translation for each occurrence without needing to translate it again.
Cross-file Repetitions: These refer to segments that are repeated across different files within the same project. Trados Studio identifies these repetitions, enabling translators to utilize previously translated segments from other files, thus improving consistency and reducing workload.
Internal Matches: This category includes segments that are consistent within the same file but differ from the original TM. Internal matches occur when a segment is the same as another segment in the same document but is not a perfect match to any entry in the TM. These may require some review to ensure they align with the intended meaning and context.
New Segments: Content that has not been translated before, requiring full translation efforts.
Generating Analysis Reports:
For a Single File:
- Open your project in Trados Studio and select the desired file in the Files view.
- Right-click and select Batch Tasks and Analyze Files.
- From Batch Processing, select Analyze Files and choose your settings, including matching thresholds.
- Generate the report, which can be saved in various formats for easy sharing.
For Multiple Files:
- In the Files view, select the files you wish to analyze. You can use Ctrl+Click or Shift+Click for multiple selections.
- Right-click and select Batch Tasks and Analyze Files.
- Configure your report settings and proceed to generate the analysis report for all selected files simultaneously.
